Oooh! More Golden Age characters. But who the heck are they? Well, you can read along and find out or, if you don’t think you can wait, hop over to the Public Domain Super Heroes database and look them up.
We’ll have more of them in the next few updates.
-Scott-

Spell check please! Diana should say – “I had to change clothes”
NOT “cloths”
Thanks… working on it.
Danny looks grumpy…
He and Benton are the Grumpy old men of the series.
Well, Archie has his moments too…
not to be picky, but… “conference”…not conferance.
and “Dr. Strange”? really?
ahh well, it ain’t me that would sue ya anyway. good work!
it’s not the Dr. Strange from Marvel. It’s this Golden Age Doc Strange.
And if Dynamite Entertainment, with all their legal beagles feels confident to use him, I’m not worried either.
Oh, and thanks for the spellcheck. Working on it now.
This Doctor Strange was created almost two decades before Marvel’s Sorcerer Supreme. Marvel can’t sue on copyright basis since Doctor Hugo Strange is clearly a different character than Doctor Steven Strange, and it can’t sue Scott on trademark basis so long as he doesn’t publish a Doctor Strange comic or any product called “Doctor Strange” or “Dr. Strange.”
So, no, Scott isn’t going to get sued for this.
hmm Dr. Pam Battle looks to be a looker also.
Geez I love this story. LOL
You’ll LOVE next issue when we go to WWII France and see Diana’s origin story along with Pamela “Pat” Parker (future lastname Battle) and her Girl Commandos…
Hey, that was my idea
I am not accusing you of ripping you it off. I just thought it was a funny coincidence. Great minds think alike and all that.
You mean Battle and Warnurse becoming a couple? Or doing a Girl Commandos story?
The former.
Cool. That was something I came up with at the last minute. Seeing how I made Archie and Diana become a couple, it seemed reasoable that others would too.
They seemed like a suitable couple.
I’m curious to see your take on it. Drop me a line when got something going.
Will do.
BTW, if you have time or inclination, do feel free to take a look at public domain hero based short stories I posted on my blog at PHD wiki (you can look them up by hitting the “recent blogs” link on the side menu). I could use some for feedback and/or criticism.
“I HATE FURRIES” You are just amazing, I hope you know that.
And ooooooh, GENERAL Battle nowwww!
XD Perfect timing too on the furries thing, one of your ads is for some furry shit.
Oh, and Bart Hill is the original Daredevil. That’s the extent of my nerdyness on obscure heroes… for now, lol
Like I’ve said: It’s NOT AN ATTACK on Furries, just a light-hearted jab. Furries have become a way to “jump the shark” for a lot of people.
Not all, but some…
Diana is one of my sarcasm channels. Benton and Garret are the sarcastic, grumpy old men, but Diana is the more light-hearted jabber.
She’ll have plenty of shirts with jabs at Superheroes too!
My favorite so far was the “Hero” written with the Heroes, inc. font on the backside of her undies in one of the vote incentives. If you put 2 and 2 together you get “Hero my ass!”
There’s more on the way…
Eh…….
Aaahhh…the return of heroic intrigue! 1) Awesome use of balloons to tag the many conference attendees. 2) Who owns or controls the Eagle’s Nest? 3.) Anyplace I can see this old vote incentive with Diana?
2) Capt…I mean GENERAL Battle built it with the help of Allen Turner (Skyman) and boy genius (now old timer) Dickie Dean.
Scratch #3. I uuhh…found your gallery. Mmmmm….sexy grandma.
I’m not sure if I ever had the Hero undies in use or not… But yeah the pants are in the gallery.
And one last comment.
“I view with alarm the low estate of this fine, nay, superior sequential-art story-telling. A paltry standing of 236 is intolerable! We must vote. VOTE I say to raise this fine tale to it’s rightful standings in the top 100.
I go to my local bar to vote on other peoples machines as well.”
Of course it might help if I could find time to update the incentives more often.
Next stop – sexy Crusader
How far back do we have to go to see a Major Battle scene? Is this a Private Battle, or can anyone join in?
*sorry for the puns*
BTW, I notice that several of these characters “originaly” had no super powers. Will that still be true, or will you supe them up as part of the Hero team?
Most have taken part in the soldier program back in the day and were given the “healing serum” which has kept them around for so long.
But there’s those like Dickie Dean who have aged at normal speed and are real old timers.
I know your joking, but who knows, we might see his adventures in WWI.
Looking at this page, I feel compelled to ask something that I’ve been wondering about for a while. Many of the Golden Age characters that showed up so far don’t look quite as old as they should. Like, Dickie Dean looks about the right age, as do Skyman and Sparky, but Danny and Bart look younger than they should. And Gen Jonathan Battle looks pretty youthful for someone who should be over a hundred years old. I wouldn’t be surprised if there is a reason behind this. Guess I’ll have to wait and see.
Most of it depends on the various versions of the healing formula. Battle could have all kinds of other crazy stuff going on too. I haven’t worked it all out yet.
But civilians, like Dickie Dean, didn’t have access to the formula (or just chose to stay away from it) and have aged normally.
