Ooooh gruesome! That’s really not what those guys signed up for.
What the heck was that, you ask? Well find out on Monday… And stay tuned for a “making of” for this page. I’ll try and post in on the weekend…
Dang, Scott–That art is intense! Gross, but cool!
Yeah, not my usual cup of tea, but what can i say… It had to be done. 😉
Big red flesh eating wave, does not eat bone or metal, seems to take bits off in tiny bubbles. It also eats skin but does not seem to eat cartalige. Then there are the white streaks which are either little things moving fast or something akin to electrical arcing. Oh, and the whole process is painful as it seems to take some time. But, we did not really see what caused this, yet. (Unless it is a selective nanoswarm.)
Nor can I imagine many ways for a hero to survive this. Forcefield, but you might get tired eventualy. Run away, but it seemed like it had a bit of speed itself, besides it can just go for a city and force you to defend. Massive regeneration, but it would need to be very fast. If it is tiny beast, then maybe you could hurt enough of it for the cloud to move away. If there is something at the center of or causing the red wave, then you might be able to attack the generator. Really tightly fited armor suitable for space, so the red does not get inside, but that tends to limit your mobility and is always subject to a tear or a hole. Super tough skin would seem to be a bit of a copout, unless you were like the Thing and not only tough but made out of rock instead of meat.
Again, all the red has to do is head for a city, and how could a supe stop massive death even if the supe survived. The red covers a pretty big area.
Man! You really have picked the right user name! 😀
You’ve always got some interesting theories though! Nice to know this has you thinking.
As a note from someone who took a couple of years of German in both high school and college: the boat should read “Deutchland” not “Germania.” Germans do not refer to themselves or their country by the English word, or any variant thereon. They call themselves “Deutch” or “Deutchlanders.”
Actually it is Deutschland, with an s in the middle, but I suspect that Germania might have something to do with the alternate history that is being depicted here. Please shed some light on this, Scott…
Sorry, sorry, but as a typical german “Besserwisser” = “know-it-all,” (genetical implemented, oh my…), I want to comment a bit again…
theFinn is right, the nazis did plan to rename Germany, I don’t exactly know if it would happen into “Germania”, but Berlin was indeed in danger to get this name.
However, it’s an alternate world, and I hope in the end that the superheroes will finally free Europe (incl. Germany) from this nazi gang.

Yes, a german person is “deutsch”, and we call us male=”Deutscher”, fem.=”Deutsche”.
“Deutschlander” is not in use, I know this term only from a march which is called “Deutschlaender”
And to the present comic page there is only one thing which I can say:
“Oh mein Gott!”
Yup. Sorry Doc Ryder, but it all has to do with the alternate reality. Germany won WW II and most of what we know as Europe is now Germania (Hitler planned something along these lines)
Buntklecks: Free Europe… Well i really don’t want to give out spoilers, but Europe is free from “the Nazi gang” already. It’s still Germania though…. We’ll see more on that later.
I think maybe Kennedy was the only one who really made use of the word Deutschlander… The famouse “Ich bin etc.etc.”
And yes “Oh mein Gott!!” indeed. 😀
…ouch (but have seen worst on the internet =p)
Looks like a thin wall of red…something that passes through inanimate object just fine but flesh and blood? Strips them off and the white arcs are points where the wall is touching the skin
They don’t need the organic stuff…
DOH! I think that was a spoiler. 😉
My god….gruesome….why did it took that long for some real action to get rolling….anyway…love your work…..(wooooossshhhhhhh)
Just setting it up slowly.
