I haven’t read ANY of the motion comics out there. What I’ve seen of various ones just doesn’t interest me. Taking the still images of popular comics and adding zooms and the occassional gliding or distorting character… Blah!

One type of “interactive” style that I DO like, however, is the approach that Shane Neville takes in his Petra’s Call. The comic is made in Flash and advances with clicks of a button, that “build” the page thus enabling a certain pacing to the action on the page, the dialogue, laypouts  etc.

I was sucked into the comic immediately. This is what motion comics SHOULD be.

The comic tells the story Petra, a young druid who is desperate to hear the voices of the forest so that she can join the war against the cities.

You can watch the comic right here or go check it out at Petra’s Call.
